National Kitten Coalition Workshop 2020

Please join us February 23rd for a Kitten Workshop hosted by the Middleburg Humane Foundation and presented by the National Kitten Coalition. You will learn about assessing mom and kittens, providing medical care, medical conditions, kitten socialization, and more. The last part of the afternoon session will touch on expanding and developing your foster program. Space limited to 30 people per session. Due to being an intensive workshop, registration is reserved for those 16 years of age and up.

Morning Session

(9:00am-11:30am)

I have kittens, now what do I do?

  • Learn how to care for kittens of any age, including bottle-baby care.
  • Basic care of kittens and eating on their own.
  • How to assess a kitten’s condition. Recognizing early signs of illness and how to react.
  • Basic foster instructions.

**Lunch provided for those also attending Afternoon Session (12:00-12:30)


Afternoon Session

(12:30pm-3:30pm)

Advance kitten care for fosters and shelters

  • Neonatal care/housing/handling in homes and/or shelters
  • Common medical concerns for kittens – recognizing and treating (for example, parasites, diarrhea, upper respiratory infections)

(3:30pm-5pm)

“Starting and Expanding a Foster Program”

  • This is intended for rescues and shelters wanting information about foster programs.
